40,000

We're long overdue for a new year post. Even Nicky was asking me yesterday when I was going to do one. Mind you I think it was just because she is bored of seeing our last day of holiday appear on screen every time she fires up the internet (this is set as our homepage).

It's Sunday morning so that can only mean one thing - I'm sat by the side of the pool watching Jake have his lesson.

This week was another busy one, although I wasn't staying down in Brighton every day like the week before. I did stay over on Thursday night as I was there all of Thursday and Friday. Unfortunately I did have to retire to the hotel after lunch on Thursday with a bad head. Turns out that it was just the start of a cold bug, and there was no sign of any wobbly heart moments! I'm seeing the consultant next week and hopefully he will be pleased and I might be able to stop taking all of the tablets.

Jake has discovered a new hobby. Earlier this month whilst we were in Bluey he asked to go to Games Workshop for a look around, and the staff there let him have a go at a game as well as trying out some painting. He was dead keen and so I got him a starter set when I was in Brighton for the week. It turned out that I'd got the wrong one (LOTR rather than Warhammer 40,000) but a quick trip to the Maidstone store sorted that out. Nicky bought him some paints and yesterday we got some more figures and another book.

It turns out that the figures we got yesterday are rather more complicated to assemble than the ones in the starter set, so that could well be our challenge for this afternoon. We may have to go in for a lesson before we get any further than undercoating with the painting.

As is probably obvious I am quite enjoying Jake's new hobby as well! Dad has been up in the loft to dig out all of the figures that I had many many years ago!

In Haig news we just might be exchanging tomorrow - but don't hold your breath!!
