We went to pick him up at lunchtime today, stopping off at the pub in Upnor for a sandwich and drink on the way. Jake appeared from the centre, trailing his bag along behind him, and clambered into the car. We started to hear all about it on the way home, and have continued to do so for the rest of the day. The most commonly used word has been "awesome".
As the weather has been so lovely, Nicky picked up a cheap BBQ at the shops this afternoon and we've had burgers and hot dogs for tea.
This time last year we spent most of the day in the Monterey Bay Aquarium, a truly fantastic place, where we had to persuade Nicky that kidnapping a sea otter was not an option!
