January can be a long month for several reasons: work is busy, the weather is miserable, Christmas seems like a distant memory, and whilst it was nice to get paid early in December, the wait for payday to come around again does seem like a rather long one.

Still, it turns out that financial salvation is at hand, in the form of a letter received today from my credit card company, which read:

"It has come to our attention that due to the manner in which certain Paypal transactions were submitted, your account had currency conversion fees applied in error.

After a thorough review of your account, we have identified all the relevant Paypal purchases and have determined that you are due a refund of £0.06."

Phew - that's going to make all the difference!

By the way, today's smoothie recipe: orange juice, natural yogurt and a handful of frozen summer fruits. Very tasty, but headache-inducingly cold.
